APFEL STRUDEL

    Ingredients:
  • 6 Cups of thinly Slices Granny Smith Apples
  • ¾ Cup Chopped Almonds & Pine Nuts
  • ¾ Cup Raisins
  • 1 Tablespoon Lemon Rind (Grated)
  • ¼ Cup Melted Butter (Not Margarine)
  • ¾ Cup Castor Sugar
  • 1 Cup Breadcrumbs
  • 3 Teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
  • 4 Sheets (8 ozs) Puff Pastry (Thawed)
    Directions:
  • Mix apples, Raisins, Lemon Rind, Sugar, Cinnamon & Nuts.
  • Cook & Stir Breadcrumbs with ¼ Cup Butter until lightly browned.
  • Sprinkle ½ of breadcrumbs on pastry sheet.
  • Mound ½ of the filling on top of breadcrumbs, leaving a 3” strip
  • Around the pastry sheet. Brush around the edges lightly with Milk.
  • Carefully place on top another pastry sheet. Go around edges with a fork (This attaches both the sheets together), then make a few holes in the Top for ventilation.. Lightly brush a little milk over the top.
  • This recipe makes enough for two (2), so then make another one the Same way.
  • Cook in oven 180C for 20-25 minutes until brown
